Larry J. Miller, Ph.D.
Dr. Miller, a licensed psychologist, founded The Divorce Recovery and Family Resources Center in 1988 and serves as its director. He provides the counseling services of the center. He had a career in mental health and mental retardation administration before returning to full time clinical practice in 1982. His focus on relationships, divorce, single parenting, remarriage and step-parenting stems from his own life experiences in these areas as well as from on-going study. His conviction of the healing power of community and peer support is reflected in the work he does with groups. His clinical orientation most approximates the Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy model of Albert Ellis. About half of his clients are individuals and half couples and families. He has created and led a number of seminars since 1985 and currently teaches the When Your Relationship Ends.
 
Seminar Faculty:
Debra Carlisle, OT/L

Debra Carlisle is a Licensed Occupational Therapist with 30 years of experience. She holds a BS of Occupational Therapy with double minors in Art and Psychology. She began her career providing inpatient/outpatient care for children, adolescents, and adults in mental health facilities, and currently works with children with disabilities and their families.

Debra began working with Dr. Larry Miller in When Your Relationship Ends seminars in 2001, as a small and large group facilitator. She now directs When Your Relationship Ends seminars with Dr. Miller. She is dedicated to the healing power of community and emotional growth which is promoted through the WYRE seminar. Debra also leads and works with women’s groups and retreats.
 
Mary Lou Serafine, Ph.D.
Dr. Serafine began her career leading seminars, workshops, and personal development groups in the field of teacher training. She also taught and did research in psychology and served on the faculties of UT, Yale University, and Vassar College, before undertaking a new venture at mid-life and going to law school. She has frequently served as a small-group facilitator in the seminar When Your Relationship Ends, and now teaches the Successfully Single seminar.
